Here at Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue, we are an entirely voluntary organisation.
We are totally dependent on donations and fundraising efforts.

So you wish to own a Staffordshire bull terrier? Let me tell you now this a special breed of canine, "Are you a special breed of human?. If so continue!!
He was forged in fire and the fire produced a Dog of Steel. Like his mind and body his friendship is unquestioning. He will be the worlds biggest clown or equally a most trustworthy companion. They also possess that great attribute of forgiveness, in that no matter what has happened previously in their life with humans, each chapter starts anew with unending love and trust in his human friend.
I have known Stafforshire bull terriers whose presence have lit up all that comes within their aura, and we the human are richer for this canine gift. He, "The Staffordshire bull terrier" raises our conciousness in that we the human strive to possess those traits which seem so natural in this breed, "Dignity, Trust, and Hope," I sometimes think the saying, "Hope springs eternal" was penned by a Staffordshire bull terrier for they are the epitome of Hope no matter what lies behind them, "They will walk forward, head held high, searching for the next human touch of comfort and acceptance"
You may think this parable, "Fanciful?" If so then you have never known the deep emotions raised by having contact with this breed.
They may not be a dog for ALL but they are ALL dog and so much more but that is for you to find out, and us lucky enough to have the Staffordshire bull terrier in our lives to know.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue is a voluntary organisation dedicated to providing help to Staffordshire Bull Terriers and their owners. We offer advice and information to the owners and help with re-homing dogs if necessary.

Dogs are put into the rescue organisations for a number of reasons. Some are abused, abandoned, neglected or just unwanted. We also get them in rescue because the owners are genuinely unable to look after them through no fault of their own.

If you wish to have your dog re-homed ~ due to lack of funding we do not have our own rescue kennels ~ as long as you are able to provide good care of your dog, they should remain with you until a suitable new home has been found. By remaining in familiar surroundings, this will cause less stress to your dog who may have a difficult time ahead adjusting to new people and places.

In emergency cases we can arrange to take a dog into foster care.

All our dogs are spayed / neutered and microchipped before re-homing.

We aim to find our dogs new homes by working to a re-homing policy, which matches each dog's individual needs, characteristics and traits with the most suitable new owner and living environment. To achieve this, we need to ask prospective owners a few questions, which are followed up by an informal home visit to your home.

To assist in funding our work, you will be asked for a minimum donation of £65 for your dog.

The Kennel Appeal is now closed, as we have reached the target of £3000 needed to build them.

THANKYOU to all those who kindly contributed. Any further contributions will go to the upkeep of the kennels.
